Challenger Michael French defeated incumbent Neal Linnartz, securing more than 50% of the vote to win outright. The runoff was required after no candidate received a majority in the May election, where French had previously led by a narrow margin. French’s victory now gives him the mayor’s seat as voters returned to the polls to settle the closely contested race.
