The rest of the magnificent old theater will be demolished.'I'm brokenhearted,' said Rose Ellis. 'Berkeley is becoming something that I don't recognize anymore. Although I desperately want people to have affordable housing, if this building leaves, I don't know what Berkeley represents anymore.'Ellis founded a group that is trying to stop the demolition but even they are feeling pretty hopeless.
