Already facing major disruptions brought on by the ongoing writers’ strike, Hollywood is bracing for another massive blow, as unionized actors are preparing to also hit picket lines amid stalled negotiations with studios and streamers.
Hawley’s Alien Will Reinvent The Franchise – While Staying True To The Original Movies After creating the successful Fargo series for FX, Hawley was next tasked by the network with reviving the Alien franchise. According to Hawley, the trick in bringing new life to Alien lies in reaching back to the experience audiences had with the original Ridley Scott movie, released in 1979.
Echoing Hawley’s remarks about the need to deliver an experience comparable to the thrill of seeing the original Alien, FX chairman John Landgraf spoke to the 2022 TCA Tour about the Fargo creator’s unique approach to the franchise:
