Abbott Elementary has always challenged the ideas of what a comedy can do. Taking the mockumentary style and making it its own, the series has hit a perfect stride in its 5 seasons. Today, Collider is thrilled to team up with ABC to share a sneak peek from tonight's new episode of Abbott Elementary, in which Principal Ava institutes a"No Homework" policy.
What could possibly go wrong? In our exclusive sneak peek, Ava decides the students no longer need to do homework, but not every teacher is excited about the change. Barbara Howard doesn't like it, stating that it is something that will always remain, as she hysterically ponders what if Sir Isaac Newton didn't have homework, would we even have gravity? Meanwhile, other teachers share a range of perspectives on homework, with Melissa and Jacob pointing out that the new policy could be a good thing, as Gregory admits that he doesn't even grade homework. Janine doesn't love that her boyfriend only grades tests, which will surely serve as a point of contention for the couple through the rest of the episode. The"No Homework" rule might be Ava's most challenging policy change date, though. Especially with some of the teachers being on her side. But now, as everyone has returned to school, it is fun to see how Brunson and company continue to up the ante with the series, much of which comes from Ava deciding she just doesn't want to deal with something and making it her staff's problem.
