Man United started brightly at Old Trafford but were ultimately well beaten by Roberto De Zerbi's side, with midfield once again the point of concern.
Gary Neville has questioned Erik ten Hag's decision to deploy a midfield diamond during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Neville told Sky Sports: "United played a very narrow midfield and once Brighton started to get it onto the right-hand side it was a real problem. They cut you open, Brighton, they're clinical and precise. They dismantled Man United yesterday, and that is definitely the right word, they dismantled them. what most Man United fans thought might happen did happen, which is worrying.
It could be argued that Ten Hag had little choice but to go with the team he picked due to a number of absences. Antony and Jadon Sancho are both unavailable due to off-field issues, while Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount had both been missing through injury. And despite another dismal performance, Neville agrees with Ten Hag that United are not in a crisis, but has urged the Dutchman to turn his side's form around sooner, rather than later.
