A planned 2025 reunion of the heavy metal band Nevermore is facing backlash after founding bassist Jim Sheppard claims he was not invited to participate.
It looks like popular heavy metal band Nevermore will be getting back together in 2025, and it also looks like that doesn’t sit well with everyone. Specifically, bassist Jim Sheppard, a founding member of the band, is not happy after he says he was not invited to be a part of the reunion. the band broke up in 2011, and frontman Warrel Dane died in 2017, making a reunion appear unlikely. There was a catch though, according to the site.
Sanctuary, a band featuring guitarist Jeff Loomis and Van Williams, both of who were also members of Nevermore, continued performing. That, the site pointed out, left the door open for Nevermore to be revived. But a post by Sheppard’s wife, Priscila, on Facebook addressed the fact that Sheppard apparently won’t be part of the revival. “James has never been contacted about Van’s plans with Jeff using the Nevermore name,” she wrote. “I am sorry you think James is involved. We do not know about their plans, and it is completely disrespectful of them to use the name NEVERMORE without consulting Jim Sheppard, as he is one of the founders of the band. We are waiting for clarification on this alleged project and will proceed from there, whether or not clarification comes from them
