Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant reacts during the second half of Game 4 of an NBA basketball first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics, Monday, April 25, 2022, in New York. Kevin Durant didn’t take kindly to Charles Barkley’s comment, so he responded on Instagram.
The NBA on TNT analyst described the Brooklyn Nets star Sunday as a “bus rider” instead of a “bus driver.” “I don’t want to badmouth the dude, but you guys are always talking about that championship stuff,” Barkley said. “I tried to tell y’all, all these bus riders, they don’t mean nothing to me. If you ain’t driving the bus, don’t walk around telling me you a champion. All these guys walking around with these championship rings, hey, y’all bus riders. When you’re the bus driver and you’ve got all that pressure when you have to play well or you’re going to get the blame, that’s a different animal.
Kevin Durant took to Instagram to react to Charles Barkley's comments about the Nets' star being a "bus rider," not a bus driver. With Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets had expectations of being the last team standing. Instead, they were the first team sent packing. Irving wasn’t around to start the season. Harden was long gone before the end of it.
