The revenge thriller stars Jeon Jong-seo, who has been dubbed a 'female version of John Wick'
Netflix viewers have gone wild for a new Korean revenge thriller. Released on October 5, Ballerina is action-packed and stars Jeon Jong-Seo in the lead role.
Ballerina follows ex bodyguard Ok-Ju - played by Jeon - who reconnects with her former best friend and classmate Min-Hee, who is a professional ballerina. After the pair re-establish their friendship, Min-Hee dies in a staged suicide and leaves a note which reads: "Please get revenge for me!... I know you'll be able to help."
The film has a whopping rating of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers have taken to X - formerly known as Twitter - to praise the film and encourage others to watch it. O_G_Maelstrom wrote: "#Ballerina on Netflix is a Korean female John Wick. 100% gangster with a brutal tone." Notalyana_ commented: "Watched #Ballerina for the third time now. Still having chills and awe with the amazing cinematography and music details, Kim Jihun was right when he said that the whole movie was like a music video. #JeonJungSeo."
