Netflix will screen sordid Princess Diana musical after signing Harry and Meghan in £112m deal
Prince Harry is facing calls to get Diana: A New Musical pulledThe musical, written by playwright Joe DiPietro and Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan, ends with reports of Diana’s death in a car crash in 1997.They said: “Though there is no substitute for the live theatre, we are honoured to be a part of the quality entertainment Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide.
He said: “The Diana musical, soon to be premiered on Netflix, presents a huge dilemma to them both. If the critics are to be believed, this musical story is not a joyous journey of love with a happy ending but an episodic account of untruths, scandal and sex.
Netflix does look an odd choice, given the musical it intends to screen about Harry’s mother. But they know best. But it’s a bit rich, with the monstrous cheque now incoming, to be paying us back over a decade in instalments.
