According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, next year will see Netflix step up its efforts to stop passwordsharing in a big way. And it sounds like... they mean it? Opinion / streaming wsj
\nSo remember back in March of this year when we reported how Netflix was looking to crack down on the All-American past-time of sharing your Netflix password among families & friends? Well, it looks like 2023 is the year that the streaming service is looking to get really serious about it, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal .
\nEarlier this year, Netflix began test-running a new service where subscribers could pay to share their login intel. Subscribers in Chile, Costa Rica & Peru can add extra subscribers for an additional cost of 2,380 Chilean Pesos , $2.99 in Costa Rica, and 7.9 Peruvian Sol . To complicate password-sharing, any user logging onto Netflix who isn't the primary account holder or listed as a paid account is asked to enter a verification code, which is sent to the primary account holder.
