El primer ministro israelí, Benjamín Netanyahu, advirtió este lunes de que Israel se encargará de la seguridad de Gaza de manera indefinida una vez termine la guerra que están librando en ese territorio palestino.

'Creo que Israel tendrá, durante un período indefinido, la responsabilidad general de la seguridad porque hemos visto lo que sucede cuando no la tenemos', aseguró Netanyahu en extracto de la entrevista con la cadena estadounidense ABC que se emite esta noche. 'Cuando no tenemos esa responsabilidad en materia de seguridad, lo que tenemos es una erupción del terror de Hamás en una escala que no podríamos imaginar', añadió.

El primer ministro israelí respondió así al ser preguntado sobre quién debe gobernar Gaza una vez finalice la guerra, a lo que contestó: 'Aquellos que no quieran seguir el camino de Hamás'. Cuando se cumple un mes del estallido de la guerra entre Israel y las milicias palestinas lideradas por Hamás, el número de muertos en la asediada Franja de Gaza según datos de este lunes ya supera los 10.
