Nestlé has revealed why a popular product has been missing from supermarket shelves.

The whitener, Coffee-Mate, has reportedly not been available in some shops of late. The item is preferred by some people as an alternative to milk and all you have to do is simply add two teaspoons of it to your coffee. Coming in a numerous flavours from vanilla to chocolate to crème brûlée, the drink addition has been a favourite of many since 1961 and is described as making your coffee"smoother and silkier". Suitable for vegetarians it also comes in a fat-free range. Now, Nestlé has explained how the company is switching up the packaging of the product in a bid to become more eco friendly - and this has led to some minor issues meaning the product has been absent from shelves.
