DALLAS — Dallas-based luxury retaileris warning customers that their information may have been compromised after an unauthorized third party reportedly gained access to a database platform used by the business.

According to Neiman Marcus Group , a total of 64,472 customers were affected by this data breach, which exposed personal information such as names, contact information, dates of birth and Neiman Marcus gift card numbers. The retailer is also encouraging affected customers to report incidents of identity theft or fraud to law enforcement, the Federal Trade Commission and their state attorney general. NMG also asked customers to consider placing a security freeze on their credit files, which would prevent potential creditors from accessing them through consumer reporting agencies without their consent.
