Three fire engines were sent to the scene

Neighbours have expressed their sadness at a house fire which they labelled a 'nightmare'. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the fire at a property in Gedling Road, Arnold at 7.18pm on Thursday, November 3.

Local residents passed their best wishes to the residents of the house, who they said had experienced an 'awful' tragedy and a 'nightmare'. Douglas Humphrey, 69, from Arnold, said: "The only good thing is that no one was hurt it seems. It is surprising to see to be honest, we had one near me the other day too - it is awful.

"The main thing is that no one is injured. It's the last thing that family will need, it must be a terrible thing to happen to you." Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: "It has to be your worst nightmare. It's really unfortunate for the people that live there.
