Negan's reported connection to The Walking Dead: Dead City's mysterious new villain named the Croat (Željko Ivanek) has now been confirmed.

Negan’s connection to The Walking Dead: Dead City’s mysterious new villain the Croat is confirmed. The biggest bad in the history of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan eventually found himself on the unlikely path to redemption, and by series’ end was more a complex anti-hero than a true antagonist.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Morgan himself previously teased some history between the Croat and Negan, and now TVLine has passed along confirmation of this Walking Dead: Dead City character connection. In the upcoming show, Negan’s old acquaintance the Croat is responsible for kidnapping Maggie’s son Hershel, and that’s why she recruits her least favorite person to help her in her mission to infiltrate a post-apocalyptic New York.

The Croat Gives Maggie And Negan A Mutual Enemy From the second Maggie returned to The Walking Dead following a brief departure, the question on viewers’ minds was whether she would finally exact her revenge against Negan for killing Glenn. But rather than give Maggie the vengeance she seemingly desired, the show found continuing ways for Maggie and Negan to be thrown together as reluctant allies.
