Communities are reaching out to extend their support for an Ohio family in the wake of a triple homicide that claimed the lives of three young boys.

The boys' stepsister managed to run for help. Their mother called 911 and was shot in the hand while apparently trying to grab the gun and protect her kids.

First responders performed life-saving measures on all three boys, but they died from their injuries at the scene. Their mother was treated at the hospital.at the elementary school the oldest boy attended.As of Monday, nearly $180,000 has been raised, more than eight times higher than the initial goal.

"Nothing will make this better, it will never be okay," the page reads. "But please if you can find it in your heart to help relieve the financial burden of this tragedy, please donate. No one should have to go through this."In the footage, officers approach Doerman with their guns drawn as he is sitting on a step outside the house when they arrive.After officers pin him down in the ground cuff Doerman, he casually asks if he can stand up.

Doerman is being held at the Clermont County Jail on three counts of aggravated murder. His bond was set at $20 million, which is reportedly the highest bail in the county's history.JOIN THE CONVERSATION This is by far the most sickening, horrifying crime I have seen. I can only imagine the terror these little boys felt and experienced as their father – their protector – was murdering them," said Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve.
