Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med have all officially been renewed, per NBCUniversal, continuing the network's long-running"One Chicago" dominance. The pickups will push Chicago Fire to Season 15, Chicago P.
D. to Season 14, and Chicago Med to Season 12, with all three series set to return in fall 2026 for the 2026–2027 broadcast season. While the renewals were widely expected, the announcement is coming slightly on the early side, with NBC typically waiting until April to lock in the future of the franchise, just ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers in May. The renewal signals a continued confidence in one of the network's most reliable and beloved TV universes. Anchoring NBC's Wednesday nights in a back-to-back block, that strength was on full display earlier this month, when a March 4 crossover event across Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med delivered season-high viewership for all three shows. As for the casts, all three series continue to feature a mix of long-running fan favorites and newer additions. Chicago Fire stars Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, and Dermot Mulroney, among others, while Chicago P.D. is led by Jason Beghe alongside Patrick John Flueger and Marina Squerciati. Over on Chicago Med, Oliver Platt and S. Epatha Merkerson remain key anchors of the ensemble. Behind the scenes, the franchise remains firmly in the hands of Dick Wolf and longtime collaborator Peter Jankowski, with multiple executive producers across each series helping maintain its interconnected storytelling. All three shows are produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment. The One Chicago universe is not the only place NBC issued early renewals, with comedies Happy's Place and St. Denis Medical also getting an early green light for their upcoming seasons. The fate of some of the network's other shows is a little less certain, however, with Stumble, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, and The Hunting Party still in limbo. Brilliant Minds, meanwhile, was pulled from the schedule in early February.
