NBC is in massive trouble with figure skating fans after the decision they made on Saturday as the Olympics come to a close.
We only have one day left of competition before Sunday finishes the Games with the closing ceremony in Milan, Italy. From the thrilling team event to the controversial ice dancing to the"Quad God" Ilia Malinin's collapse to the rise of"Golden Girl" Alysa Liu, it's been one of the most exciting, drama-filled Olympics for figure skating in its century-plus long history.
Go back and watch everything, of course. You want to see how Malinin helped Team USA beat Japan by a single point in the team event. Or watch the pairs competition. At least you want to go and see the Olympic Exhibition Gala, where the skaters said goodbye with fun, lighthearted routines. Well, if you use Peacock or NBC, that's too bad, because the figure skating replays from the Olympics have already been removed from the streaming service.The anger was consistent among figure skating fans on social media, who felt deceived that they couldn't even watch the gala, which was supposed to be the sendoff for figure skating at the Olympics.It's a disappointing move for figure skating fans who have supported the skaters throughout the past few weeks in Milan. All replays and clips from the exhibition event are being taken down across Instagram and X, including non-skating rinkside scenes.
