The NBA is boosting its Paris Games with matchups between the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs featuring Victor Wembanyama of France.
Victor Wembanyama, the overall No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, will return home to France next year to play with the Spurs in the Paris Games against the Indiana Pacers.Spurs fans planning to follow the team next year to France — the home of power forward Victor Wembanyama — could score front-row seats to NBA history and game-time perks to boot.
The Spurs participating in the 2025 Paris Games matter to more than just casual fans or even well-known French-American former basketball players who wore the Spurs jersey, point guard Tony Parker and power forward Boris Diaw. “For Wemby, it’s really important to play in front of French fans making it happen in his second year is a big achievement,” Quintard said. “He will be super excited. He is really attached to his French roots and giving back to the French public is very important.
“Playing in Paris has been an incredible experience for our organization in the past and we are thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of The NBA Paris Games 2025,” said San Antonio Spurs CEO R.C. Buford.
