Expert NBA player prop predictions for Tuesday, January 14th, featuring Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, CJ McCollum, Josh Giddey, and Nikola Vucevic.
The Suns are spreading the love and while Kevin Durant is still a threat to score big, we like him to come in with less than his allotted total. Conversely, Devin Booker will distribute the ball with ease. We have another seven games on the NBA schedule for Tuesday, January 14. While there’s a marquee matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks, my picks will focus elsewhere.
Three of my entries involve CJ McCollum, Josh Giddey, and Nikola Vucevic as the New Orleans Pelicans visit the Chicago Bulls in the Windy City. Two Phoenix Suns stars are also highlighted in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The first three picks are our favorite plays for a 3-player lineup. If you want to play a 6-player lineup, use all six stat projections below.\Durant's total has fluctuated over the past seven days. Last week, it sat at 25.5 for most games. Now, it’s up to 27.5 and he’s scored less than that amount in six consecutive appearances. Tonight, he scored just 23 against the Hawks five days ago. Also, KD averaged 27 points in two outings versus Atlanta in 2023-24. He may get close, but Durant will fail to reach 28 points here. \McCollum is averaging 25.1 points in January and has dropped more than 19.5 in seven of his last nine. Before a 13-point stinker against the Celtics on Sunday, McCollum torched the 76ers for 38 points on Friday evening. This season, he’s registered 23 points against Chicago. Also, he’s averaging 21.2 points per night on the road in 2024-25. Chicago is considered an easy matchup for shooting guards, allowing 24 per night. Aside from his 24.9 points per game, Booker also averages 6.9 assists, which leads Phoenix. His playmaking has been brilliant for the entire campaign and the Kentucky product is dishing out 8.8 dimes per contest in January. Booker has compiled more than 7.5 assists in six of his last seven, even hitting double-digit dimes in three straight between January 6 and January 9. And guess what? He dropped 12 on the Hawks last week and will pick them apart again. \Vucevic is a hot commodity ahead of the trade deadline because he is having his best season as a member of the Bulls. While we could certainly pinpoint his scoring, tonight's focus is Vooch’s rebounding. He’s averaging 10.1 boards per night. The big man has brought down more than 10.5 rebounds in six of his last eight. The lowly Pelicans tonight, one of the worst teams in the Association, are also towards the bottom of the league in opponent rebounds allowed. Vooch will dominate on the glass. Giddey is averaging 20.7 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. We’ll focus on his ability to score because Sabonis is thriving, putting up more than 18.5 points in four consecutive appearances. The center had 22 points against the Bulls on Sunday and 23 in a victory over the Celtics on Friday. Sacramento takes on Chicago tonight and Sabonis averaged 21 against them last season. He’ll produce the goods and go toe to toe with Vucevic. \ Giddey is a versatile player in Chicago, and his ability to facilitate is his greatest asset. The Aussie is averaging 6.7 dimes per night and he’s dished out seven in back-to-back games against the Kings and Wizards. Tonight is a clear opportunity to drop dimes again. As previously mentioned, the Bulls face New Orleans, who are quite hopeless defensively. They’re 25th in opponent assists allowed, and Giddey will shine as a playmaker once again
