A trade is in the works that will send Golden State Warriors 7-foot center Willie Cauley-Stein to the Dallas Mavericks, ESPN reported Friday.
Cauley-Stein has averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds over 41 games in his first season with the Warriors. Dallas on Friday also sent forward Isaiah Roby to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Justin Patton. The Mavericks also will receive cash, according to The Athletic, which cited league sources. The severity of the injury was learned after Markkanen underwent the MRI at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago on Thursday. It is not known how long Markkanen has been dealing with the injury.
