"I was getting chubby and couldn’t even walk up the stairs. I didn’t like the way I looked in the mirror. I was like, 'I'm gonna lose 20,' and then I was trying to lose 20."showed the Pro Basketball Hall of Famer ripping off a tank top and flexing his muscles.

O'Neal spoke to People magazine in March around the time he reached the 40-pound weight loss mark. He spoke about learning how to take his health more seriously following his retirement from the NBA.
