The league said officials missed two fouls against Knicks players as they were hounding Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey into a key turnover near the end of Game 2 of their playoff series.

The sequence occurred as the 76ers were trying to inbound the ball to Maxey following a three-pointer by Jalen Brunson that brought New York to within two points at 101-99 with 27 seconds left. Maxey couldn’t hang on to the ball amid pressure from Brunson and teammate Josh Hart, who grabbed the loose ball and found the Knicks’ Donte DiVincenzo for an open shot.
In its report, the NBA also said officials acted correctly in not granting 76ers Coach Nick Nurse a timeout when he was signaling for one as the ball was being inbounded, and then as Maxey was losing the ball to Hart. On the second non-call, the league said Maxey did not have possession; in both instances, per the league, Nurse’s requests were “neither recognized nor granted by the officials.”after the game of Brunson’s three-pointer. “We take a look at getting it in quick.
