Freshman at Nazareth University spent part of their orientation week volunteering at local non-profits to help out the community they are now a part of, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024. Several groups were sent across the city to clean up parks, stock food pantry shelves, and help get the word out about the resources available. "In Ballston Spa we have some food pantries, but there's not a lot of programs helping them out," she said. "It's a lot nicer that everything is organized.""At Rochester Hope, we feed 300 households every week. We provide clothing and various things so, they're here to help us stock the shelves, hang up clothes," she said. "It's not glorious work, but it's so necessary for people to find what they need.
