Navy veteran Lt. Commander Ali Ghaffari, a father of three daughters, revealed on 'Fox & Friends Weekend' his reasons for starting the classical Catholic school Divine Mercy Academy in Maryland.

Navy veteran and father of three Lt. Commander Ali Ghaffari said that once he visited a school based on the principles of classical education, "I was amazed by what I saw" — including "the depth of questioning" by the teachers of the students. He noted that classical education uses the greatest works of Western civilization —"these books that are so inspiring and have inspired generations for 2,000 years."
He said his kids now love going to school —"they love their homework. They love studying and discussing big topics. It's wonderful to see."and"even in some parochial schools, sadly, is very secularized," he said.
