A Royal Navy explosive ordnance disposal team was dispatched to Springburn after an alleged suspect package was reported

Royal Navy bomb disposal experts have handed control of a locked-down Glasgow street to police after identifying alleged "items of interest" at flat. Emergency services were called to Petershill Road in Springburn shortly after 10am on Monday, April 17, following reports of a suspicious package in a property.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson told the Record: "I can confirm that a Royal Navy EOD Team from Charlie Sqn, Northern Diving Group, attended Petershill Road, Glasgow, at the request of Police Scotland. The team identified various items of interest and have handed the scene back over to Police Scotland. The team remain tasked to aid the investigation.”

"My house was in the cordon so I needed to leave. I was given five minutes to get dressed and I went to my sister's. I take medication at around 6pm every night but I thought we'd be back in by then so I left my meds. I had to come back at 10pm last night to get my meds but one of the police officers came up with me."
