The Navotas City government announced on Sunday, Aug. 13, that the driver’s licenses of motorists who will be caught violating traffic rules while on the city’s roads will not be confiscated by authorities starting Tuesday, Aug. 15.

The “No Confiscation Policy” on driver’s licenses is in line with the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023 that implements a single ticketing system which harmonizes the traffic enforcement and management laws of the local government units in Metro Manila. This includes uniform fines and penalties for traffic violations committed by erring motorists along the roads in different cities in the region.

The local government said that it will also be following the harmonized fines and penalties under the STS through City Ordinance No. 2023-15 or “An Ordinance Adopting Certain Traffic Violations, Fines, and Penalties, and the System of Interconnectivity Among Government Instrumentalities Involved in the Transport and Traffic Management in Metro Manila as Prescribed Under the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023 Thereby Revising/Modifying the Existing Traffic Code of the City of Navotas.

The amount of fines and penalties imposed for different traffic violations such as illegal parking, reckless driving, overloading, disobedience to traffic signs and officers, dress code for motorcycles, loading and unloading in prohibited zones, and overspeeding under the STS are posted on the city’s Facebook page:
