San Diego News Daily: ▶A lockdown was lifted at the Naval Base Medical Center after reports of a person with a gun were unfounded. ▶A proposed ban on homeless encampments in San Diego is moving forward.

A shelter-in-place order was lifted at the Naval Medical Center San Diego Friday after security received a '"third-party" report about a person with a gun that later turned out to be unfounded, according to the hospital Friday.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the hospital at around 10:45 a.m., at that time NBC 7 confirmed that there were officers going through buildings and some people were being evacuated. At around 11 a.m., Naval Medical Center San Diego posted on their Facebook page saying they had issued a shelter-in-place order in response to a potential security concern. It was later known there was a report of an unidentified person with a gun. That person was quickly detained and no gun was found, the hospital said.Get San Diego local news, weather forecasts, sports and lifestyle stories to your inbox.

SkyRanger 7 did fly around the scene and found multiple patrol cars. San Diego police said there was no confirmation of shots fired or injuries. A spokesperson said the U.S. Navy would provide additional information.
