Repeated delays to the delivery of hundreds of NATO armored vehicles to Ukraine may be down to American and German red tape, according to a new report by the BILD newspaper.Germany has earmarked MRAP armored vehicles for the Ukrainian military, which were due to be delivered in multiple tranches beginning in January of this year, BILD reported citing documents it acquired but has not published.

German authorities, the newspaper wrote, had agreed to finance the delivery to a total amount of around $335 million, with the vehicles to be supplied by German defense company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH . The firm acquires essential components for the vehicles from the U.S.Twenty vehicles were due to be provided each month from January to October, BILD said, making a total of 200.
