JOHANNESBURG - The noose is tightening for those linked to fraud and corruption at the National Lotteries Commission. The Asset Forfeiture Unit has secured a preservation order worth more than R22-million in properties, two Ocean Basket franchises and a BMW.The Commission has been embroiled in several scandals which prompted a series of investigations by the Special Investigating Unit.
Earlier this year, it was granted an order to freeze a multi-million rand property, allegedly bought with commission money. Criminal cases have been opened against the former CFO Philemon Letwaba, CEO Lesley Ramulifho and an attorney.
