Madeline Summerville, a member of the Jewish Bar Association of Georgia and an attorney at Georgia Trial Consulting said this is a timely poll because students are returning to class, the war is still happening and the Jewish high holidays are next month.According to the poll, 77% of respondents said it's very likely there will be more pro-Palestinian protests.
"Everybody went home for the summer and now they're coming back and nothing has changed. I would look for those emotions to run a little bit higher," said Summerville."You do not want the military patrolling your college campuses, making arrests, things like that," Brantner Smith said. She said local, state and federal law enforcement are the ones who have that power and it should be enforced. If anything, she said the National Guard could be used to prevent students from being harassed. When asked whether or not pro-Palestinian protestors will try and prevent students from attending class, 58% of respondents said it was likely to happen.
