PMVSB said numerous activities were being conducted throughout August to bolster the Merdeka spirit.
This year, PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd has launched the month-long Merdeka Youth Campaign, incorporating local culture, art and history in programmes for young Malaysians.
PMVSB, the sole custodian of Stadium Merdeka, has taken active measures in conserving and restoring the national landmark to its original glory, and seeks to involve the public in further appreciation of the site. “It’s important to share knowledge with the young and we’ve worked to maintain the original look and feel of the stadium for the younger generation to experience.PMVSB head of communications Liza Karim said they hoped to make the historical site accessible to everyone, especially the idealistic Gen Z.
The competition, open to students enrolled in architectural programmes and young professionals, will require participants to sketch the Merdeka 118 Tower.It was held for the first time last year in partnership with Pentago House, Sam Mansion and Zhongshan Building in Kampung Attap, Kuala Lumpur.
