Es posible que National City pronto adopte nuevas reglas para los proveedores de catering y las empresas que los contratan. Según una ordenanza propuesta que el Ayuntamiento considerará hoy martes, las empresas sin capacidad completa de servicio de alimentos, como bares y mercados, podrían ofrecer ventas limitadas de alimentos en sus propiedades.
En 2016, el condado de San Diego amplió la definición tradicional de “catering” de servir comida en eventos privados a poder venderla directamente al público. Ese año, el condado comenzó a exigir permisos de instalaciones anfitrionas y de catering de venta directa para tomar medidas enérgicas contra las ventas de alimentos inseguros.
