Why do mass murderers like Audrey Hale, who shot up the Christian Covenant School in Nashville leave behind manifestos and other documents?
Laura Ingraham questions why the manifesto for the Nashville shooter hasn't been released, and Nashville residents weigh in on when it should be released on ‘The Ingraham Angle.'
"When people intent on killing others write manifestos, they want their motivation to be publicized," explained Dr. Katherine Ramsland, professor of forensic psychology at DeSales University."Sometimes, it's a suicide note, but it can also be an attempt to punish or to inspire others to follow their lead."
"It's not like Hale just did an instant delusional flip or had a real quick psychotic break with reality. This was planned out. Hale put time into this. Hale was very, very functional."State law is"simple and straightforward" and the documents must be disclosed unless they fall under an exemption, said Doug Pierce, the lawyer representing the National Police Association and private investigator Clata Brewer in a lawsuit against the City of Nashville and Davidson County.
"It's heartbreaking when you think of it, 9-year-old children gunned down," Pierce told Fox News Digital."It's very sick, sad and heartbreaking.", documents produced or received by government agencies conducting public business become public records unless they fall into an exempted category. City and county officials have argued that there is an ongoing investigation.
"Everybody agrees that is not the case," he said."They acted in a very commendable and heroic fashion, so they're not in trouble."
