NASCAR driver lights car on fire during epic victory burnout.
Following his win, Nemechek nosed up to the dividing wall between the track and pit lane to perform an absolutely massive burnout that, after about 20 seconds, generated enough heat to ignite the rear tires. The 25-year-old North Carolina native proceeded to drive his car, tires ablaze, onto the front straight to perform yet another burnout before eventually allowing marshals to extinguish the flames.
Ironically, Nemechek's No. 20 Toyota GR Supra is sponsored by Pye Barker Fire & Safety, a company that builds and sells fire extinguishers. This fiery celebration comes less than a monthstarted by Zane Smith after he won the NASCAR Truck Series race at the Circuit of the Americas. Nemechek took the lead following a restart with 32 laps remaining after running in the top three for most of the race. His Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Sammy Smith finished just 1.518 seconds behind, followed by Stewart-Haas driver Cole Custer in third.
“I can’t say enough about this whole team, if you would have asked me yesterday if we would have won, I thought we were a 10th-place car in practice,” Nemechek said
