NASA has launched its own streaming platform, and it can be used for free by anyone with a smart device.
The new streaming service, NASA+, features a variety of content focused on NASA's ventures into space, and it can be accessed through NASA's app on mobile devices. The launch of the app is meant to allow users further access to agency content, the government agency announced.“NASA is a leader in the federal government for creating inspirational content that meets people where they are,” NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy said.
The programs available on this new platform include a documentary series featuring the James Webb Space Telescope and several programs aimed at children. A unique program available on this streaming platform shows visuals of outer space while set to an outer space-themed soundtrack.Additionally, NASA+ will stream live coverage of NASA events, such as science experiments and the launches of astronauts into space.
NASA+ can be accessed through the NASA app on Apple and Android devices, along with streaming media players like Roku and Apple TV.
