Naomi Watts may not be going to the salon to get a pedicure, but her latest DIY approach is almost as good as the real thing.
Not long ago, there was a time when fingers and toes were filed, buffed, and finished in lacquers of all shades. Nails offered a signal of, allowing fans of the mani/pedi to feel put together in spite of slapdash topknots and pared-down ensembles. We remember those days well—and so does. The actress took to Instagram today to share a snap of her sandal-clad foot, showcasing toes adorned in shells, each positioned to mimic a seriously overgrown nail.
"Gotta tell you. Fully outgrown this s***," captioned Watts. "Despo for a pedi." The snap was a playful one, but also an S.O.S. recognizable by anyone who has spent the past weeks craving the familiar pampering of a nail salon experience. Though there's no telling what polish color—if any—Watts's toes were painted beneath the seashells, it's safe to say that the sand offered a bit of natural exfoliant, which is an of-the-moment luxury.
