'Paul was not the target, but he's paying the price,' Pelosi said in her interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper.
told CNN Monday evening that the attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, on Oct. 28 in their San Francisco home underscores the danger that all members of Congress are facing."Paul was not the target, but he's paying the price," Pelosi said in her first sit-down interview since the attack.
Pelosi told Cooper that jokes made by some Republicans about the attack were traumatizing, but that both political parties have to engage in some kind of healing process because any member of Congress can be a target for an attack. "I do believe that our democracy is in danger because of what the others are saying about undermining our elections, even now as we go forward," Pelosi told Cooper.
