The image of Pelosi, eyebrow raised and clapping at Trump after he called for an end to “revenge politics,” now features on T-shirts and tote bags for sale on her online store.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stole the show at last month’s State of the Union address with her seemingly sarcastic clap towards President Donald Trump. But although the Democratic leader said the clap “wasn’t sarcastic” after it went viral on social media as a meme, her new merchandise line seems to contradict her claim.The T-shirt retails for $22 and the tote bag $25, with all purchases going directly towards Nancy Pelosi for Congress.
Pelosi, Perry and Bloom were captured in multiple photos in which they appeared to mimic the clap. Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was also seen smiling along the famous trio in one of the images. Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence sat behind Trump during his speech, and showed varying levels of enthusiasm for the president’s sentiments. Photographers captured Pelosi at one point clapping with outstretched arms as Trump turned back to face her.
