The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told local outlet KGUN 9 that there was no updated public safety risk.

in an interview released Thursday: “Absolutely. We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted. But we can't—we're not 100 percent sure of that, and so it’d be silly to tell people: 'Yeah, don't worry about it.

You're not his target.’" He added:"Don't think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you're safe. No, keep your wits about you."“There is no updated public safety risk. When asked if he believes the suspect could strike again, the Sheriff said: 'We believe this was a targeted event. However, criminals' minds are criminal minds, so people should keep their wits about them,’” the sheriff’s department told the outlet.for more than a month. Her disappearance has prompted a multiagency search involving local law enforcement and the FBI. She was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson,Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a news conference last month that there were clues at the crime scene indicating that she"did not leave on her own." He also said Guthrie needs daily medication, and it could be fatal if she does not take it every 24 hours.Nanos also told NBC News that officials had “strong beliefs” about what happened from the start of the investigation. "I think from day one, we had some strong beliefs about what happened and those beliefs haven't diminished," he said, but he declined to share the theory, citing the integrity of the investigation. The sheriff’s department told KGUN 9, “As the sheriff stated in his interview with NBC, he and investigators have theories about why the incident happened, but would not go into details as this is an active investigation.” The sheriff’s department also said it is looking into what caused things to go offline at Nancy’s property around the time of her disappearance. The damaged box could be related to a reported internet outage in the early hours of February 1, which could have possibility disrupted video surveillance systems in the area, according to“From the initial timeline we have, there are certain events that occurred where things go off-line at Nancy's property and we’re trying to figure out what happened. There is a possibility that the Wi-Fi was possibly disrupted or a power outage. We’re looking into what caused that and if other people in the neighborhood experienced similar events.”“We feel the love and prayers from our neighbors, from the Tucson community and from around the country. Please don’t stop praying and hoping with us. Bring her home.”Anyone with information is asked to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI, 520-351-4900, 88-CRIME or visit tips.fbi.gov. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the recovery of Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. "To help keep the tip line available for actionable investigative law enforcement leads, please submit only serious and detailed fact-based information, no well-wishes or case theories. The tip line is not for personal messages to the Guthrie family," FBI Phoenix said. Additionally, 88-CRIME is offering a reward of $102,500 for the arrest of the person or persons involved in the disappearance. Savannah Guthrie announced on Instagram that the family is offering a reward of up to $1 million, payable only for her mother's recovery.
