Najib wants judge recused from 1MDB case FMTNews FMTEng
Counsel Shafee Abdullah said if the application is granted, Najib Razak’s 1MDB case can start all over again, or continue before another judge.
This follows a disclosure by Sequerah last month that he and former 1MDB general counsel Loo Ai Swan had been partners in a law firm. Najib is standing trial on 25 counts of money laundering and abuse of power over the alleged misuse of 1MDB funds amounting to RM2.28 billion deposited into his AmBank accounts between February 2011 and December 2014.
