The Western Cape High Court on Thursday heard how Modack was approached by a middleman to bribe Vearey and slain officer Charl Kinnear.
CAPE TOWN - Retired top cop Jeremy Vearey says alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack was a victim of a"long con" by a middleman, which Vearey and his slain colleague, Charl Kinnear, were aware of.
Evidence presented in court included a statement from Modack to police, which the State used to try and implicate Modack on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
