The Met — the largest art museum in the U.S. — says its budget shortfall for this fiscal year may be as much as $150 million. That's a third larger than it announced a month ago.

The Met is the largest art museum in the U.S. and one of the city's most-visited tourist attractions. Itall three of its locations on March 13: the modern and contemporary art-focused Met Breuer, the Met Cloisters and the Met's iconic flagship museum on Fifth Avenue. The Met had expected that it could reopen in July. But in New York City right now, that date seems less and less realistic.
