New Jersey school districts announced school closings, delayed openings for Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 due a winter storm.
to parts of the state along with a wintry mix as freezing rain transitions to snow.
The highest snowfall amounts of 6 to 8 inches are expected in Sussex County along with parts of Warren, Morris, Passaic and Bergen counties. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings in those areas.The northern half of New Jersey is likely to see some snow from the storm when it starts Monday evening. While some Central Jersey counties should get less than 2 inches, the timing could make for dangerous driving conditions for the Tuesday morning commute and school bus routes.
