Naomi Elkins, 27, appeared in Superior Court in Toms River on Monday afternoon wearing an orange jumpsuit. The hearing lasted 10 minutes while Superior Court Judge Guy Ryan read the charges against her. Her attorney, Mitchell Ansell, then stood and announced his client consented to being detained. Elkins only answered yes or no to Ryan’s questions.
