Marcus Stapleton is accused of causing extensive damage to a convenience store in Pennsylvania.
A New Jersey man slammed a stolen ambulance into a Pennsylvania convenience store and state police cruiser before being arrested trying to hide inside a factory, authorities said.
Stapleton was taken to a hospital in Williamsport where he received stitches and was released at about 2:30 a.m., authorities said. After leaving the hospital, he stole the ambulance, which had been left parked with the keys inside, and drove it to a convenience store in the 700 block of Washington Boulevard in Williamsport at about 4:15 a.m., authorities said.
When Stapleton got back in the ambulance, he crashed it into the front wall of the store and drove off, authorities said. He went into a factory through an unlocked door and tried to hide, but state police took him into custody, authorities said.
