Vincent Jean, 56, of Elizabeth, N.J., has been charged with attempted murder, reports say.
Police tell WABC the Jean and the victim were involved in a minor crash on Monday. Jean reportedly tried to drive way, but the woman, who was standing on a sidewalk, began taking photos of his vehicle and the license plate.
Jean is accused of driving up on the sidewalk and through a yard as the woman attempted to run. A video shows she eventually falls and the vehicle drives over her. The vehicle then backs up and drives over her again before leaving the area. “He ran over her. Ran over her again, three times,” a witness whose camera recorded the incident tells NBC New York. “How could you do a thing like this? It was a fender bender, that’s all.”
WABC reports Jean is charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, third-degree assault by auto, third-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with serious bodily injury, third-degree endangering an injured victim and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
