Kenneth Saal, 33, formerly of Lindenwold, pleaded guilty in Middlesex County on Wednesday to the murder of Carolyn Byington, 26, of Plainsboro.

In early 2020, a Middlesex County assistant prosecutor said the office offered Saal a plea bargain for 30 years in prison for a guilty plea. That deal expired in March 2020.to kill a “random woman” or the lead detective in his case, believing he could obstruct the trial by casting doubt on his guilt or preventing the detective from testifying.
