McGhee was charged Tuesday with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.A 35-year-old teacher and high school basketball coach in Monmouth County has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenager, authorities said.
McGhee is the girls basketball coach, a health/physical education teacher and an assistant football coach at Middletown High School North. He has been placed on administrative leave by the district. McGhee was being held in the Monmouth County jail, according to court records. His attorney couldn’t immediately be reached Wednesday to comment.
“As this is a police matter, we cannot provide further comments. However, we will continue to support our students as needed and work closely with law enforcement throughout this process,” Alfone said in a statement.
