A police officer in Bergen County has been arrested and charged with making a series of threats, aggravated assaults, endangering the welfare of a child, and pointing an assault rifle at a woman in 2019, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced Tuesday.
On July 19, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit received information about the alleged incidents and on Monday, Chun was charged with five counts of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree aggravated assault and one count of fourth-degree aggravated assault.
According to charging documents, Chun allegedly pointed an assault rifle at a woman in July 2019 and fired the gun in the presence of someone else. It is unclear from the documents whether the charges allegedly occurred on the same day. At other times, police alleged Chun ripped the hose of a kitchen faucet out and threw it at the woman while she held a young child and threatened to throw a child at the woman while running down the stairs.
